Bio
Mel Ense is a First Nations artist, inspired by the land, florals, and the changing seasons. Growing up in Six Nations of the Grand River Territory and spending summers in M'Chigeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island, she developed a lasting appreciation for the land, nature, and the stories, memories, and connections found within them. Working primarily in watercolour and acrylic, her paintings use colour, texture, and expressive brushwork to convey mood and emotion.
